What is Speed Networking?
Don't like the pressure of speed dating? Want to meet different social circles of friends? Want to network for business purposes? Speed Networking is an exciting, quick and non-pressured way to meet singles for social and networking purposes. In one evening, you'll meet a variety of people, in brief, individual one-on-one conversations and have the best time of your life.
What are the advantages of Speed Networking?
The system guarantees you have mini meetings -- without the need for uncomfortable ice-breaking. You avoid the nightmare of going out on your own to meet a good group of people from similar backgrounds. Make the best of your precious time and meet others who want to also meet people of similar interests.
How does Speed Networking work?
A group of people with similar interests and backgrounds gather together for one on one networking opportunities. The venue is filled with "tables for two," and each table is numbered. You will have a set amount of time of 4 minutes per meeting. 20 meetings each time you participate.
The MC will announce the end of each meeting session and participants are asked to write on a form if they would be interested in receiving that person's contact email. This entails simply checking a 'yes' or 'no' box. Then the meeting rotates and the next one begins 30 seconds after the previous. If both sides checked off the 'yes' box, organizers let participants know within 48 hours which matches have been made, and give each side the other's email address.
4 minutes doesn't seem like a lot of time, is it enough?
This is a great way to see if you'd be interested in future
contact or just more conversation later. Sometimes 4 minutes is way too long
if you know what we mean. But in 4 minutes most people can tell if there is
mutual interest for various reasons, if they like the way someone speaks, if
the person is mature and intelligent, and if they want to know more. At which
point they'd select YES on the score card and hopefully the other person would
do the same!
Dress to impress. Don't wear jeans, shorts, flip flops or sneakers,
no matter how casual the facilitator says to dress. You are there to find dates.
"Business casual" is ideal.
In order to create a safe, comfortable and enjoyable evening
for everyone, there are 3 subjects that you are not allowed to discuss at any
time during an dating event.
GET READY TO ENJOY THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!!!
